Executive Team
We decided to open My Sister’s Closet after asking ourselves why resale stores were always dark, dirty and dingy. Why couldn’t they look like new boutiques? We dedicated ourselves to turning the “three d’s” – dark, dirty and dingy – into the “three c’s” – cute, clean and current.
In 1991, a store was born at Town & Country on Camelback in Phoenix. It was so small we considered naming it My Baby Sister’s Closet. So many customers came calling that by ’92 we had rented out a second space. Our family grew and extended its reach beyond Phoenix and into Scottsdale in 1997. Confident that what made for a great ladies resale shopping experience would translate to kids, we launched Small Change in 1998, and then moved on to furniture with My Sister’s Attic in 1999 and finally men’s apparel in 2001 with Well Suited.
Ann Siner CEO and Founder

Ann began her professional career at PetSmart rising through the ranks to become Director of Advertising and then Director of Professional Services.
Ann decided to open her first designer consignment store with her sister Jenny in 1991 – a 1,200-square-foot boutique in the Town & Country plaza on Camelback in Phoenix. Despite themselves, the popularity of My Sister's Closet quickly grew and has since blossomed to 10 stores in Metro Phoenix including My Sister's Attic recycled home furnishings, and Well Suited designer men's apparel. Tirelessly committed to the welfare of animals, Ann volunteers with Friends of Animal Care and Control (FACC'S) and Helping Animals Live On (HALO). During “kitten season,” she has fostered as many as 15 kittens at one time in a spare room at her home. Never one to discriminate, she's also fostered quite a few puppies. Ann estimates that over the years, she's fostered an average of 50 to 75 animals per year. Ann's efforts as both FACC's past board president and pet fosterer have not only raised awareness of the issues surrounding animal euthanasia, but have also given dozens of animals another chance at life. When she's not putting blouses on hangers and cleaning up kitty litter, Ann and her hubby like to travel to exotic destinations like Chandler, Tempe and the Antarctic.
Jennifer Siner Co-Founder

While Jenny, co-founder of My Sister’s Closet, is modest about her work, her sister Ann is anything but, describing Jenny as a person with “true artistic abilities.” Jenny started with MSC directly out of college when she was only 22. Her art background has been well appreciated, as she has planned the retail displays and floor plans of all 10 Valley locations. Jenny makes props, chooses colors and comes up with the brilliant ideas that have made the stores a huge success.
Jenny is also a full time mom to 4-year-old Abby. And if you've ever had a four-year-old, you know Jenny doesn't have another minute in her day to spare, so consider that next request carefully.
William Takacs Chief Financial Officer

Bill is the newest member of the family, having joined us in 2008 after working four years for one of the other consignment shops in town. Before Bill launched his career in retail finance, he first earned degrees in Economics and Computer Science, and then his MBA from Columbia University in Finance. That pretty much makes him the smartest one around here. He is pretty low key most of the time, but with all of the fashion mavens and bling in our stores, he sometimes flashes his Phi Beta Kappa Key just to get our attention.
Bill worked as the Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis and subsequently Internal Audit & Loss Prevention for CSK Auto in Phoenix. This was followed by a two-year stint in Michigan at Kmart, as their Director Capital of Planning & Analysis, Expense Analysis & Control. Two winters were enough for Bill to return to the desert, taking on the Senior Audit Manager assignment at PRG-Schultz where he recovered more than $20 million due to his clients.
A Veteran of the NAVY back when they still had wooden decks, he grew up in New Jersey and learned about meaningful work and customer service working in the family business. In college, he fell head over heels for his soul mate, after she beaned him in the back of his head with a snowball! Now with their four children out of the house, the only mouth they have to feed is their faithful Lhasa Apso, Chewy.
